Job Summary:
Transfer Technicians are responsible for the movement of fish throughout the systems. This position includes interaction with the system and the fish so situational awareness and alertness are paramount to achieve optimum fish health & welfare.
Core areas of responsibility are:
Responsible for fish transfers throughout the Bluehouse.
Responsible for following established fish and water transfer best practices -i.e.. Line flushing, setup preparation, mobilization and demobilization and active communication with other areas of the farm.
Complete daily system checklists.
Monitor system operation and fish behavior.
Maintain strict biosecurity protocols.
Operate, adjust system conditions together with system managers
Collect, classify, and remove mortality during emergency harvests
Collect and maintain accurate records.
Interface with computers and apps.
Assist in fish growth sampling
Maintain a clean workspace before, during and after transfers.
Responsible to use, follow and improve checklists in Sweet Process
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Troubleshoot, repair, or replace mechanical equipment (pumps, pipe flanges, etc.).
Maintain cleanliness of sensors (oxygen, pH, etc.).
Safely handle live fish.
Daily tasks may vary based upon the needs of the farm
Skills, competences, and knowledge to perform the work

Expected hours of work:
This job is hourly, and schedules may include daytime, nighttime, weekend, and holiday shifts. Lunch break is 1 hour and is coordinated daily with your manager. The facility is 24/hr. and may include fast response all hands-on deck calls should there be issues with the fish so flexible scheduling is required.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Background in aquaculture, recirculating aquaculture systems, fisheries, or fish handling preferred Experience with mechanical, or pipeline work is desired.
Knowledge and use of hand tools, power tools, and related safety considerations preferred.
Work Environment
This job operates in a combined office and farm/production and construction environment.
Physical Demands :
Long periods of time standing, walking, climbing stairs.
