Support the Sturgeon Conservation and Sustainability Act!
Florida Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio have introduced S.2870 - Sturgeon Conservation and Sustainability Act. This bill will amend the Endangered Species Act (ESA) to allow American farmers to continue their sturgeon operations while also adhering to the original purpose of the ESA to ensure the longevity of the species across the globe.
In the absence of any captive-bred exemption and with the pending ESA listing of several farmed sturgeon species, numerous U.S. farmers are in danger of being put out of business!
The National Aquaculture Association urges you to reach out to your House and Senate members to ask that they sponsor the Sturgeon Conservation and Sustainability Act!
Any House or Senate questions about the bill can be directed to Clayton Stein with Senator Scott’s office.
