Tilapia to Brazil: UPDATED CERTIFICATE 

Date of Notice: July 17, 2024 

Effective Date: July 10, 2024


The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is pleased to announce the updated health certificate for exporting tilapia from the United States to Brazil, effective July 10, 2024, which now allows for the export of tilapia and their hybrids. More information regarding the export requirements and associated health certificate are on the APHIS International Regulations (IRegs) web page for Brazil – Export Live Animals to Brazil | Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (usda.gov)


Please note that Brazil accepts both electronic issuance of this health certificate by your Accredited Veterinarian AND digital APHIS endorsement, which means that both issuance and endorsement can complete in Veterinary Export Health Certification System (VEHCS), saving time and money.
