Legislation signed on December 22, 2023, authorizes the U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration to include the loading and unloading of commercially harvested fish and fish products as an eligible activity for Port Infrastructure Development Grants.  Eligible grant applicants include special district, Native American tribes (Federally recognized), city or township, county and state governments.

The FY 2024 Notice of Funding Opportunity is anticipated to be released in early 2024 (January-February).
