In the letter, NAA expresses strong support for the creation of the Office and the USDA’s growing recognition of seafood production within American agriculture policy, while also emphasizing the importance of ensuring that aquaculture and seafood farmers remain at the center of the Office’s priorities. The letter outlines the critical role aquaculture must play in reducing the U.S. seafood trade deficit, strengthening food security, supporting rural and coastal jobs, and expanding domestic seafood production under some of the strongest environmental and food safety standards in the world.
